The gravity of the events that took place in the early morning hours on June 12 in Orlando, Florida is beginning to sink in, and here on Idolator we’ve presented you with many reactions to the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub by musicians and other celebrities.

This time, however, we opted to give an overview of different voices: A prominent, respected television news reporter choking up while reading the names of the 49 who were killed; the President Of The United States addressing the situation to the world; political candidates’ vastly different points of view on the shooting; a book author whose most noted character inspired a theme park ride that one of the victims worked on; and a mother who maintained just a small bit of hope that her son was somehow still alive after the deadly incident.

“This is a sobering reminder that attacks on any American, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation, is an attack on all of us,” President Obama stated on the day of the shooting.
