New Find: Vera Blue's "Settle"
Vera Blue blends folk and electronica to stunning effect on viral hit "Settle."

Billie Eilish went viral with debut single “Ocean Eyes” — a gloomily beautiful lullaby that drew comparisons to AURORA and Lana Del Rey. Produced by older brother Finneas O’Connell, the haunting anthem reached number 3 on Spotify’s Global Chart and racked up 11 million streams. Needless to say, expectations are high for the follow-up and the 14-year-old (yes, you read that correctly) proves up to the challenge with mesmerizing new single “Six Feet Under.”

If you thought the teenager would experiment with something a little more upbeat this time around, you were very mistaken mistaken. “Six Feet Under” is every bit as somber (and delicate) as its predecessor. “Our love is six feet under,” Billie sings mournfully on the chorus. “I cant help but wonder if our grave was watered by the rain.” Lana’s influence lingers but there’s also the faint whiff of Låpsley and Birdy as well as something defiantly original.
