Fergie’s Comeback Single “M.I.L.F. $” Gets A Release Date (We Think)

After two years of buzz tracks, leaks and random snippets, Fergie’s decade-in-the-making solo comeback is set to kick off in earnest on Friday (July 1). At least, according to Universal Music Singapore. They posted the cover of pop star’s new single “M.I.L.F. $” on Facebook with the message “Fergie Ferg is B A C K with a new hit, M.I.L.F. $, this friday and it’s gonna be [fire emoji x 3].” That’s probably as close to an official announcement as we’re going to get, given the secrecy (and misinformation) surrounding the project.

“M.I.L.F $” (reportedly pronounced “MILF money”) not only boasts an eye-popping cover, but also a star-studded video featuring Kim Kardashian, Ciara and Chrissy Teigen — AKA Hollywood’s hottest MILFs. Us Weekly reports that Kanye West and John Legend were on set, but it’s unclear if they participated in the shoot. 2014 buzz track “L.A. Love (La La),” which I assume will be left off the album, found Fergie dabbling in DJ Mustard-produced urban-pop, while “Hungry” hinted at a bolder, edgier sound. It will be interesting to see where she goes with the official single. Fingers crossed, we won’t have to wait too much longer to hear it!
