Lady Gaga kicks off a moving tribute to the Orlando shooting victims, released today (June 29) by Human Rights Campaign.

The end result features 49 celebrities, one for each person who died at gay nightclub Pulse. Gaga, Lea Michele, Laverne Cox, Demi Lovato and Kid Cudi are among those telling each victim’s story, detailing everything from their place of work to the tattoos they had on their bodies, one of which said, “Love has no gender.”

One victim, whose story is told by Angela Bassett, had even recently posted about his fears being out and about in Orlando, following the shooting death of Christina Grimmie.

The 18-minute clip is produced by Ryan Murphy (Glee, Scream QueensAmerican Horror Story), who approached the civil rights organization shortly after the incident.

“The hate that stole these 49 individuals from all those who loved them has been allowed to flourish in our country for too long,” he says. “No person is born hating another, and we have an obligation as Americans to stand up against prejudice and bigotry that would incite violence against someone simply for who they are.”
