Demi Lovato’s “Body Say” Is A Slinky Bedroom Anthem: Hear A Snippet
Demi Lovato debuted new single “Body Say” on the first stop of her joint tour with Nick Jonas in Atlanta, Georgia last night (June 29). A slinky bedroom anthem with sexy lyrics and an instantly-hummable chorus, the first taste of the Disney diva’s sixth LP sounds like a hit. “Slow hands. Speed it up, baby make me sweat,” she pleads over mellow synths. “Dreamin’, take me there cause I want you sex. If my body had a say, I wouldn’t turn away.”
Twitter didn’t waste any time comparing “Body Say” to Selena Gomez’s “Good For You” and there are a couple of similarities, tone and tempo-wise. (Both songs were co-produced by Nolan Lambroza). However, I think the track owes a larger debt to Demi’s touring partner. It wouldn’t sound out of place on Nick’s last album, squeezed between “Chains” and “Jealous.” Which isn’t a bad thing at all.
