John Newman’s Latest Calvin Harris Collab Is Called “Olé” & It’s Out This Week

Scottish producer Calvin Harris and British crooner John Newman have been chummy since recording their hit “Blame” together in 2014. It not only went on to become Harris’ seventh chart-topper in the UK (and Newman’s third), but also his seventh Top 20 single in the States.

Keen observers will have noted that the pair seem to be up to be up to their old tricks this year, as well. After all, last week Harris posted a pic with Newman on Instagram. On top of that, Newman went and said this to Digital Spy recently:

“We’ve done a lot. My next single is kind of reggae, which is nice and different. There’s not many instruments in it, it’s not like ‘JOHN NEWMAN’ and really blaring and forcing songs down people’s throats. It’s just chilled, and I know Calvin’s really, really proud of it as well. He says it’s one of his favorite songs he’s ever written.”

Today, Newman confirmed via Twitter that the song, titled “Olé,” will be out on Friday (July 8).

Unfathomably tragic single cover art aside, reggae sounds like it could potentially be a nice change of pace for these two. Do you think “Olé” will wind up being as big a hit as “Blame”?
