MIYNT’s “After The Gold Rush” Is A Tribute To Neil Young’s Third Album: Listen

MIYNT just released a new infectiously eerie number “After The Gold Rush,” her official follow-up to “The Strangest Game.”

Here, the Swedish singer contemplates time and desire over looming synths and off-key piano riffs. “After the gold rush, we turn to dust/ My mind is blinded by your touch/ Come on, open your eyes/ It’s a beautiful life,” she coos on the song’s chorus.

The track is also dedicated to Neil Young‘s critically acclaimed third studio album by the same name.

“I worked as an assistant to the artist Jacob Dahlgren a summer three years ago and he introduced me to that record,” MIYNT reveled in a statement. “I listened to it for that whole summer in the studio drinking coffee and painting squares for a sculpture (yes it was a great job). The song is playing with some of the titles of that record but it is also about time. How things have a timeline and about doing the best of things and not to overthink it.”

Listen below, and look out for her debut EP, Ep no. 1, which is scheduled to drop on September 16.
