HAIM have canceled their European tour dates so that they can finish their sophomore album. Today (July 20), the three sisters announced they’ve reached a “critical point” in the recording process for the Days Are Gone follow-up.

“We are so sorry to announce we will not be coming to Europe this summer,” the band tweeted. The post was accompanied by a handwritten note explaining, “We’d hoped to be done with recording but as it turns out, we’re at a critical point of finishing up and need to stay close to home until it’s complete.”

This tactic of canceling shows to free up time to work on the album has been used by artists like Kanye West and Tinashe recently, but it doesn’t exactly correlate to a project being released afterward. The sister trio is eyeing a fall release, so hopefully this will keep the LP on schedule.
