Today (July 20), Jessie J stopped by Live With Kelly to promote her appearance in the forthcoming animated movie Ice Age: Collision Course and to also confirm that she will not be returning to The Voice. In fact, the English singer revealed that she’s itching to write her next album.

“I love doing the show,” Jessie said. “I’ve done four seasons – two in the UK and two in Sydney. But I just need to make another album.”

She continued, “It’s really time-consuming, and if I’m honest with you, I get to the point where I’m in the chair, and I just want to sing. ‘I want to tell you how to make it better, I want to coach you, but I want to make it a duet’… I’m ready to write another album.”

Jessie then proceeded to talk about the process of auditioning for Ice Age, noting that she doesn’t “want to be given anything without working for it.”

“I did an hour’s audition and tried to find a voice they liked,” she said. “I don’t want to get it because of the music I’ve done. I want to get it because I deserve it.”
