Britney Spears’ “Make Me” Gets Some Unlikely RNC Promo

Britney Spears‘ new single “Make Me” is not a political song. It’s as apolitical as music gets. And yet now her G-Eazy collab is intertwined with the circus that is the Republican National Convention.

A Britney fan and/or someone well-versed in stan culture showed up to Cleveland during the RNC brandishing a “Buy ‘Make Me’ on iTunes” sign to rally the troops, and it was broadcast during a live news hit. Either that, or a clever prankster photoshopped the sign. Either way, the stunt was brought to Brit’s attention, and she praised her Army last night (July 20) on Twitter.

The lesson: Never let politics get in the way of good promo.
