The Drop: Wrabel, Ferras & Dillon Francis
Your cheat sheet for New Music Friday featuring Wrabel, Ferras & Dillon Francis.

Wrabel first appeared on our pop radar back in 2014 with debut EP Sideways and a feature on Afrojack’s club smash “Ten Feet Tall.” The 27-year-old returned in June with a new record deal (he’s now signed to Epic) and a new single called “11 Blocks,” which is so good that it got Kesha’s seal of approval. But don’t take my word for it. “He’s my favorite new artist,” she raved on Instagram. “I’ve had this single on repeat for the last 6 months. It’s breathtaking.”

And she didn’t lie. The gut-wrenching ballad, which is gathering serious momentum at HAC radio, finds Wrabel wrestling with the past as he struggles to move on from a past relationship. A live video arrived today (July 28) and it packs a serious emotional punch. The black-and-white photography combined with the simple piano arrangement puts the focus right where it should be — on the beautiful lyrics and the singer’s extraordinary voice. Watch up top.
