Kehlani is keeping her crazy momentum going with “Gangsta,” a haunting number that will be featured on Suicide Squad:The Album. The song premiered on Zane Lowe‘s Beats 1 radio via Apple Music and follows her latest single “Distraction.”

Over a clobbering, percussive melody, the California singer croons about needing a proper bad-ass for a lover. “I need a gangsta/ To love me better/Than all the others do,” she mercilessly coos in the song’s chorus. In fact, the track is so haunting that it’s meant to show Harley Quinn and the Joker’s relationship in the actual movie, which seems all-too fitting.

“Steven Price did the score on this and he’s incredibly gifted,” director David Ayer told Lowe. “He heard [the song] and felt he could do more with it and really orchestrate it. And it just blends into the fabric of the film. It speaks a lot to relationships, making a choice, and at the same time how there’s also power in surrendering to somebody.”
