Kelly Clarkson Signs With Atlantic Records
Kelly Clarkson just inked a long-term, worldwide deal with Atlantic Records.

After 14 years with RCA, Kelly Clarkson recently inked a new deal with Atlantic Records got straight to work. The much-loved singer’s eighth album, which is due in 2017, reportedly finds her dabbling in R&B and soul. But it’s sure to stay true to her earthy pop/rock roots given the involvement of long-time collaborator Jason Halbert. (He’s been working with America’s sweetheart since My December). They have been cooking up hits in the studio, as evidence by a pair of Instagram photos (below).

Kelly was never particularly shy about airing her grievances with RCA, so it will be interesting to see what she comes up with this time around. “After winning American Idol there was an arranged marriage that occurred that sometimes worked out and sometimes resulted in the hardest experiences of my life,” the 34-year-old said in a press release announcing her new deal. While we wait to hear her new material, check out a series of live covers on her new website.
