Miguel Drops New Song ‘Cadillac’: Listen
Miguel‘s seductive new cut “Cadillac,” off the soundtrack for Netflix drama The Get Down, is here. The show takes place in the Bronx in the ’70s, depicting the birth of hip-hop, and the retro-disco sound of this track certainly brings to mind the foundational sounds that would lead to hip-hop’s origin.
“Cadillac” opens with a crescendo of strings, leading in Miguel’s purring vocals. In the chorus, he croons “Heaven’s in the backseat of my Cadillac / Let me take you there,” with a background of upbeat horns and a skronky-smooth beat giving it a modern feel. As with lots of his material, it’s fun, sexy and makes you want to move.
