Kanye West Now Has More Top 40 Hits Than Michael Jackson

Ooh man this is gonna get the people going. Kanye West now has 40 career entries in the top 40 of Billboard‘s Hot 100, meaning he has passed Michael Jackson on the all-time list. And the thing that will tick people off even more is that he did it as a featured artist, on Schoolboy Q‘s “That Part,” which enters this week at No. 40.

West’s 40th top 40 single puts him ahead of MJ and Frankie Valli, who both topped out at 39 singles with that distinction, and into the 10th spot on the all-time list of total Top 40 singles by male artists. Marvin Gaye is next up with 41, and Drake is way up with 53, if you believe the numbers.

Considering he’s always zeroed in on his music’s stats, and that MJ is one of his heroes, you can be sure Kanye has some feelings on this achievement. The question is whether he’ll tweet about it.
