Tegan & Sara Drop Surreal Animated “Hang On To Night” Video: Watch
Tegan and Sara don’t appear in their “Hang On to Night” video, premiered today (August 11). What the viewer does see, though, is a surreal sight to behold.
Directed and illustrated by Lisa Hanawalt of BoJack Horseman, the video follows a horse walking on its hind legs, placing literal diamonds in the sky while rallying fellow night creatures. In this alternate universe, this includes cat jockeys, twerking ferns and chicks with leaves sprouting out of their head. Occasionally the horse finds obstacles, but doesn’t give up.
As strange as this world may seem, the general takeaway actually makes for pretty practical advice. “If you can manage to hang on, you can face another day,” Sara says.
