Sevyn Streeter Sizzles In Post-Apocalyptic “Prolly” Video
It’s telling that Sevyn Streeter changed the title of debut LP to Girl Interrupted. (It was going to be called On The Verge). The project was originally due in 2015 on the back of Chris Brown-assisted “Don’t Kill The Fun,” but was postponed for 18 months. The R&B diva obviously took it personally — returning with a vengeance on Friday (August 12) with new single “Prolly.” She embraces an edgier hip-hop sound on the track, which is matched by an equally ferocious video.
“Though I’m definitely a fan of Mad Max, I honestly can’t take responsibility for this creative vision,” Sevyn told The FADER. “I gotta hand it to my director Mike Ho! He turned the feeling and vibes I had while writing ‘Prolly’ into reality! I knew the song was unapologetic, raw, and edgy and he created a treatment/environment that brought it to life!” Watch the “It Won’t Stop” hitmaker do her thing in a barren post-apocalyptic world filled with shirtless men.
