The wait is over! K-pop superstar CL will kick off her US campaign on Friday (August 19) with new single “Lifted,” the title track of her similarly-titled English-language EP. The rapper revealed the cover on Twitter last night, but she broke the news over the weekend at We the Fest in Jakarta, Indonesia. “Are you going to check out my song when it comes out next week?” she asked the audience, before launching into her most recent hit, “Hello Bitches.”

CL has spent the last 18 months working on her US debut, collaborating with some of the biggest names in music including Skrillex, Diplo and Florence and the Machine. It will be interesting to see if “Lifted” sounds anything like “Doctor Pepper” — a stateside buzz track featuring Diplo, RiFF RaFF and OG Maco. That song didn’t really do it for me, but I’m still excited to hear what she comes up with given the excellence of her K-Pop output.
