BANKS Will Not Be Ignored On “Mind Games”: Listen

Today BANKS premieres “Mind Games,” the third offering from her upcoming sophomore album The Altar. And it sounds like a BANKS song! In a good way: The production is sparse and then swells up, matching the dysfunctional romance at the center of the song that hits with a bracing “Do you see me now?” refrain.

The Altar is out September 30. Hear “Mind Games” and read along with the lyrics below.

I foresee it’s true That you would love me better If I could unscrew All of your moods that make me wanna run away But I got stuck with faulty legs

I believe it’s true That you would screw me if I let you in my bedroom And if I did, then do I try to move away? Cause I know you like mind games

Do I ever have to notice? I’ve been standing here and I don’t know why Did you ever even see me try?

Do you See me now Do you See me now Do you See me now, see me now, see me now, oh see me now

Bet I look amusing Cause my addiction to these contradictions make it confusing And if I walk away I’m scared I won’t find other muses Cause I know you like golden days

I don’t understand You claiming I’ma handful when you show up all empty-handed The way you say you love me like you’ve just been reprimanded Cause I know you like mind games

Do I ever have to notice? I’ve been standing here and I don’t know why Did you ever even see my try?

Do you See me now Do you See me now Do you See me now, see me now, see me now

Do you See me now Do you See me now Do you See me now, see me now, see me now, see me now

Do you Do you Do you See me now See me now
