Shawn Mendes Is “Frustrated” With ‘Billboard’ Cover Story
Shawn Mendes should be celebrating right now. The teenager’s new single, “Treat You Better,” is on the cusp of becoming his second top 10 hit (it climbs to a new peak of number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week) and he lands on the cover of Billboard. Unfortunately, the “Stitches” hitmaker isn’t particularly happy with his cover story — correcting a statement about his relationship with fans via a series of emotional tweets.
“I explained how im growing up and so are you guys and how it takes time for you all to fully understand me and me to understand you,” he begins. “Its really unfortunate when what you say gets turned into the bad version of it. Im sorry guys… and the part that i spoke about how much my fans mean to me and what i owe them is not even touched on.” His final comment? “Again, im sorry. Very frustrated.” Read Shawn’s Billboard cover story in full here and see his tweets below.
