Legendary comic actor Gene Wilder died at age 83 yesterday (August 29), and tributes from fans and showbiz luminaries have been buzzing through social media since. And last night at their show in Denver, Coldplay honored the late actor by covering “Pure Imagination,” the song he made famous as Willy Wonka in the 1971 classic Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.

Check out part of Coldplay’s cover as well as the original scene that went on to become arguably Wilder’s most memorable onscreen moment.
