She’s transcended industry expiration dates for pop artists. Will her latest add to her longevity?

If recent reports are true, then One Direction‘s Niall Horan has been hard at work. According to The Sun, Niall has recently teamed up with Greg Kurstin, a producer-songwriter who has worked with Paul McCartney, AdeleKaty Perry, Pink, Sia and Tegan and Sara.

“He wants to move away from boy band stuff and show what he can do, and he’s been doing some great work with Greg, among others,” says The Sun‘s source.

Back in May, Wayne Hector, the songwriter behind 1D’s “Steal My Girl” and “Best Song Ever,” confirmed that he had also been working with Niall.

“We are writing together but he wants to do it for himself and not other people at the moment,” Wayne said to The Daily Star. “We have no idea where it will end up.”

Niall was reportedly in negotiations with Simon Cowell‘s Syco, to which 1D is also signed, though for a solo deal. Meanwhile, fellow group member Liam Payne inked a record deal with Capitol in July. Zayn Malik, of course, released his solo debut Mind of Mine on RCA.
