Regina Spektor has released her new song “Black And White,” which will be featured on her forthcoming album Remember Us To Life.

Unlike her recent upbeat single “Bleeding Heart,” this track is a poignant ballad that finds Spektor lamenting over an ugly breakup. “When you left, I closed the door/Closed my eyes, sat on the floor/ Heart beast fast, mine got slow/ This great love is all I know,” she broods over a languid piano-laden melody. But the truth really begins to set in during the chorus when she asks herself the hardest question of all: “Why should I wait for tomorrow?”

Remember Us To Life is out September 30.
