Meghan Trainor performed "Better" On 'Jimmy Fallon' and remained upright.

After reinventing herself as a sassy vixen in “NO” and serving serious glamor in “Me Too,” Meghan Trainor is mixing it up in her “Better” visual. The pop star looks decidedly down on her luck in a pair of gritty previews. She pouts in a battered car, gets into a fight with a man and walks down a back alley looking glum — among other less than cheerful activities. The 22-year-old has certainly come a long way since she played a happy homemaker in that controversial “Dear Future Husband” video. It’s unclear how featured rapper Yo Gotti factors into the clip, but he definitely makes a cameo.

Meghan’s sophomore LP, Thank You, has received mixed reviews (the main criticism is her new contemporary pop sound), but that hasn’t stopped the “All About That Bass” diva racking up hits. Ricky Reed-produced single “NO” soared to number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the catchy follow-up, “Me Too,” made the top 20 and was arguably the catchiest Song Of The Summer. With “Better” already gaining steam at pop radio, it looks like the Grammy winner is going to have the last laugh. Take a sneak peek at her latest visual below. The full version drops tomorrow (September 15).
