Are Daft Punk Heading On Tour Next Year?

Daft Punk performed a rare showcase on the Grammys in 2014, but they haven’t toured since 2007. Now, a potential clue on the Lollapalooza site indicates the French duo could be coming out of concert hibernation this year.

A fan on Reddit came across a Daft Punk tag page on the Lolla 2017 site. It’s empty, but apparently it’s been there since February — which is just the type of thing you’d leave up if a booking were secured. Add to that the rumors that the robots are returning to Glastonbury next year for the first time in 20 years, and it certainly seems like something’s afoot. A 2017 run of shows would fit with their pattern of touring every 10 years, going back to 2007 and 1997 before that. Plus, it would give the pair a chance to debut much of their R.A.M. material in a concert setting, along with their Yeezus collabs and the new feature with The Weeknd on “Starboy,” not to mention all the surprise cameos they could trot out to go along with that material.

Daft Punk’s rep declined to comment when NME reached out about the touring rumors.
