Gwen Stefani's Dazzling "Misery" Video
Gwen Stefani oozes glamor in the stylish video for "Misery," her latest single.

The internet scratched its collective head when Gwen Stefani announced she was producing an animated series based on her mid-’00s backing dancers, the Harajuku Girls. It seemed kinda late (the average owner of a LAMB CD has to be pushing 40) and out of touch with current views on cultural appropriation. If Avril Lavigne’s “Hello Kitty” was ripped to shreds, why does this get a free pass? That conversation aside, Kuu Kuu Harajuku got the green light and debuts on Nickelodeon on October 3 at 4pm.

Gwen is promoting the series, which revolves around fictional band HJ5 and their adventures in Harajuku World, by dropping new music. She debuted the show’s theme song via her Facebook page today (September 27) and it finds the No Doubt diva introducing the show’s cast in a suitably-dated bop. While the track is best avoided by everyone over the age of 5, the video is undeniably cute. Personally, I’m just going to wait for the pop icon to roll out another song from This Is What The Truth Feels Like and pretend this never happened.
