Meet Robbie Williams, Russian oligarch. It’s a role the venerable British pop star takes on for “Party Like A Russian,” the comical first single and video off his upcoming 11th studio LP, Heavy Entertainment Show (out November 4).

“It take a certain kind of man with a certain reputation to alleviate the cash from a whole entire nation,” Williams boasts, as beautiful dancers twirl and grind all around him in the video. For some with a cultured ear, the song may sound familiar. That’s because it borrows from Sergei Prokofiev’s composition “Dance Of The Knights,” from his ballet Romeo And Juliet.

It’s definitely an offbeat choice of lead single for Robbie, but 11 solo albums into his overall 25-year career, he’s probably due some creative leeway.
