A lovesick puppy driving a car? Let’s just take a minute to acknowledge that gnash has the best single cover of 2016. And it sets the tone perfectly for “Something” — an absurdly cute fall anthem that envelops you like a warm embrace. “You’re more than a feeling, you’re something I’m needing,” the LA-based hitmaker declares on the sing-along chorus. “And if you feel lonely and left out with nothing to do, I’d love to be a something to you.” This would be corny in anyone else’s hands, but gnash just does feelings better.

After all, this is a guy that released a trio of EPs (U, Me and us) documenting the various stages of a break-up. The best example from that project is “I Hate U, I Love U,” which is shaping up to be the viral hit of 2016. After catching fire online, the moody collaboration has been embraced by pop radio and is now marching towards the top 10. (It’s currently number 19 on the Billboard Hot 100). “Something” shows a sunnier side of gnash, but is just as honest and every bit as catchy. Take a listen to the future hit below.
