Just hours after his show in Iowa on Tuesday (October 4), Drake has announced that he’s putting some of his Summer Sixteen shows on hold due to a serious ankle injury. The Canadian rapper revealed that, on doctor’s orders, he will postpone his upcoming gigs in Toronto, Philadelphia and Newark. Drizzy took to the official October’s Very Own blog to share the unfortunate news.

“We are over 50 shows in and I have done everything to power through my recent ankle injury and leave it all out there on the stage every night,” he wrote. “I hate to be told I can’t do something, but under doctor’s orders to allow me time to recuperate, I am being forced to postpone the intense three shows in a row in cities which have only ever shown me unconditional support.”

No updates yet on when these shows will be rescheduled, but for now, read the full statement below or on OVO’s blog here.
