Lady Gaga’s “Million Reasons”: Listen To Her Stripped-Down New ‘Joanne’ Song

As promised, there’s new Lady Gaga music to be had. The singer kicked off her dive bar tour in Nashville on Wednesday (October 5) evening, and appropriately enough her new ballad “Million Reasons” has more than a little bit of a country twist. Gaga produced the track with Mark Ronson, BloodPop and “Jesus, Take The Wheel” and Country Strong songwriter Hillary Lindsey. And while the latter’s involvement is apparent, there’s also a hint of sonic influence by Bruce Springsteen, one of Lady Gaga’s musical heroes, hanging over “Million Reasons.”

Keep in mind: this isn’t the slick, super-produced country-pop of Born This Way‘s “You And I.” Instead, “Million Reasons” plays more like tried and true, folky Americana. It’s not exactly what you’d expect from Gaga, but then again, what ever is?

“Million Reasons” is up for grabs now with pre-orders of Joanne (out October 21) on iTunes.
