Alessia Cara Interview
We speak to Alessia Cara about "Scars To Your Beautiful" & touring with Coldplay.

Chance The Rapper, Alessia Cara and Maren Morris grace this week’s cover of Billboard magazine as representatives of the Class of 2017 (and potential Best New Artist nominees at the Grammys). The talented trio spoke of their respective breakout years and thoughts on Grammy glory. They were also asked the most explosive question in pop. Should Beyonce’s game-changing Lemonade or Adele’s mega-selling 25 win Album Of The Year? Unsurprisingly, Queen Bey got all their votes.

I thought Lemonade was a well-structured album, politically vocal, streets-ready and cohesive,” Chance says. “Not to say that Adele’s album didn’t have any of those things, but I only heard it, I think, once.” As for Cara? “Adele had great songs on 25, but Beyonce pulled together a beautiful body of work as a whole, and I’m really into that.” Maren found it harder to decide, but ultimately settled on Bey. “That’s so hard because I wore both of those albums out,” she mused. “I lean towards Beyonce because she made such a social statement with her album. And it’s a visual album. As a songwriter, when I first watched Lemonade, I was so moved.”
