Jasmine V Returns With Slinky Bop “Gimme More”
Jasmine V was on the brink of making the transition from teen-pop diva to credible R&B singer with Kendrick Lamar-assisted single “That’s Me Right There” in 2015 when the universe threw a spanner in the works. The 22-year-old discovered she was pregnant and, understandably, put music on hold. It seems that she lost her deal with Interscope Records somewhere along the way, but that hasn’t stopped her releasing new music. The “Paint A Smile” hitmaker recently dropped a track called “Contagious” a couple of months ago and now returns with “Gimme More.”
Unfortunately not a Britney Spears cover, the track finds Jasmine in a sexy mood. “I ain’t never had a lover who could make me feel this way,” she coos over a slick beat. “I’m usually patient, but every moment I’m with you I can hardly wait.” That leads us to the deceptively chorus. “Gimme more, gimme more we can do whatever we like.” Bizarre Snapchat cover art aside, this sounds polished and radio ready. Hopefully, it won’t be too long until Ms. V gets picked up by a major and delivers that long-overdue debut LP.
