Lady Gaga Just Filmed Carpool Karaoke With James Corden
You’ve never seen Lady Gaga like this before.
Just days after launching her dive bar tour, Gaga became the latest to film an episode of The Late Late Show‘s Carpool Karaoke. Hours after filming the segment yesterday (October 7), she posted a photo of herself and host James Corden, wearing the same wide-brimmed hats as she does on her upcoming fourth solo album Joanne.
“Had a lil fun with @JKCorden today!” she said on social media.
At this point, Carpool Karaoke has become an obligatory stop for pop stars promoting a new album. Thank Mariah Carey for being the first to appear, or juggernauts like Justin Bieber and One Direction for further popularizing the segment. While The Late Late Show itself has a relatively small audience, Carpool Karaoke is a bonafide YouTube sensation; Adele‘s segment is the most watched with over 129 million views.
Gaga is pulling all the stops to promote Joanne. In addition to her dive bar tour, she will perform on Saturday Night Live for her fourth time as musical guest — what may as well be a dress rehearsal for her upcoming Super Bowl halftime show. ( “Maybe I have something small planned. Maybe I’ll just do a lemonade stand. That would really upset people though – I won’t do that, don’t worry,” she joked to Rolling Stone.)
