Who Is Fancy? Interview
We speak with Who Is Fancy about beards, Beyonce and his single "Goodbye."

Fancy Hagood (formerly Who Is Fancy) made huge waves in 2015 with debut single “Goodbye.” The glittery break-up anthem was warmly received at pop radio and peaked at number 98 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also attracted plenty of blog attention thanks to the mysterious rollout. A second single (“Boys Like You”) followed, but the singer/songwriter parted ways with Republic Records and he has been M.I.A. from the pop scene for most of this year. Happily, that’s about to change with a new single called “Seven Minutes In Heaven.”

The 25-year-old teased a snippet of the video on Instagram and it finds him chilling with his gal pals. What can we expect from Fancy’s new sound? “I think there’s people that will connect and really like the new music because it’s me being authentic to myself,” he told O&AN last month. “This album I’m putting together explores my journey of coming into myself — mind, body, soul. That’s a story I wasn’t allowed to tell before.” The Nashville native plans to keep it very real. “I’m an openly gay artist, and I am not ambiguous… my pronouns are very specific.”
