Pop Perspective: Lady Gaga's "Million Reasons"
We rate and review Lady Gaga's "Million Reasons" in the latest Pop Perspective.

Lady Gaga kicked off her Dive Bar Tour in Nashville, Tennessee last Thursday (October 6). The entire gig was streamed live, but Mother Monster is now releasing videos for individual songs. Well, at least the singles. “Perfect Illusion (Live)” hit YouTube last week, while “Million Reasons” arrives today. The clip finds Joanne in full country drag — complete with bedazzled jacket and pink cowboy hat. She delivers a powerful vocal, but this suffers from too many cuts to audience members holding cans of Bud Light.

Unfortunately, this is shaping up to be a problematic era for Gaga. She clearly wants to break the dance/pop chains of her early albums (once and for all) by wading into the muddy waters of americana, but the fan response has been lukewarm. “Perfect Illusion” only spent one week in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, while “Million Reasons” will struggle to achieve even that given soft download numbers. Watch her in action up top.
