Backstreet Boys Not Thrilled With Donald Trump Playing “I Want It That Way” At Rally
Maybe Donald Trump didn’t get the memo that Aaron Carter rescinded his support for the deeply troubled presidential candidate? Even if he did, “I Want It That Way,” a 1999 pop standard at this point recorded by Carter’s brother Nick and the rest of Backstreet Boys, was played several times at a Trump campaign rally in Ocala, Florida on Wednesday (October 12).
This apparently isn’t sitting too well with the band, who have now issued the following statement to The Daily Beast via their publicist, Steven Trachtenbroit: “[The Backstreet Boys] did not approve this and we are not associated with the Trump camp.”
Below is a roundup of tweets by confused attendees at yesterday’s rally staged by the Republican candidate, which seems to indicate “I Want It That Way” was played at least two or three times.
So wait, is this Backstreet Boys song (playing for 3rd time here in Ocala) a permanent addition to the Trump rally rotation or…?

Too much Backstreet Boys playing at this Trump rally.

Trump outreach to millennials is real. The pre-rally soundtrack is “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys. It’s working on @alivitali.

Of course, if you glance at any news site today, you’ll realize that the members of the elder boy band are not the only ones speaking out against Trump.
