Viewer discretion is advised.” That’s how The Weeknd‘s “False Alarm” video starts — and since many of his prior videos contained those very things and came without a warning, then this one must really up the ante.
Well, it totally does. The whole thing plays out as a bank heist from the POV of one of the robbers, and it’s made to look like a single extended take. It’s basically a first-person shooter game transported into reality, meaning there are so. many. headshots.
The ambitious visual definitely heightens the energy of the song, and was directed by Ilya Naishuller. Watch below.
