Liam Payne Signs To Republic Records In North America, New Music “Coming Soon”

Liam Payne is primed to become the next One Direction star to launch a solo single. This summer he signed to Capitol UK, and today his team announced he has landed a label deal for North America with Republic Records. And with that announcement came the reveal that new music is “coming soon.”

“With Republic’s track record of launching powerhouse talent in the US including superstars like Drake, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Lorde, and countless others, I am more than confident we have assembled the best possible team alongside Capitol’s UK label to launch and shepherd Liam’s solo career,” Payne’s manager, Simon Oliveira, said in a press release

Republic CEO Monte Lipman added, “Being a member of the most successful group of the last decade, Liam has a tremendous opportunity to make an even greater impact on pop culture. We’re honored by LIAM’s decision to join Republic Records, and have extremely high expectations for his solo career.”

Just last week, Liam’s 1D bandmate Niall Horan released his debut solo single, “This Town.” And earlier this year, Harry Styles reportedly signed with Columbia for $80 million. Meanwhile, their old pal Zayn Malik has already moved from solo album to memoir.
