Bruno Mars To Open 2016 American Music Awards

Bruno Mars will be the first performer at this year’s American Music Awards, and it’ll also be his first time performing at the AMAs. Mars will kick off the show, presumably with “24K Magic,” the title track off his forthcoming album (out November 18) that he recently performed on SNL along with new song “Chunky.”

Despite this being his AMAs debut, Mars has been nominated seven times and won Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist at the 2011 ceremony. Drake leads this year’s field with a record-breaking 13 nominations, but considering the Toronto star’s penchant for skipping awards shows, it’ll be a stretch to expect him to perform at this one.

The show airs live from L.A. on November 20 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
