Pharrell Williams Unveils Fiery New Track “Runnin'”: Listen
Pharrell Williams has shared his new feisty number “Runnin’.” The song will be featured in the forthcoming movie Hidden Figures, which follows a group of African American women who completed pivotal work for NASA during the Space Race.
The song is feisty swing-tinged affair, with Pharrell recounting his time growing up in Virginia. “Sometime my mind dives deep/ When I’m runnin’/ I don’t want no free ride/ I’m just sick and tired of runnin’,” he croons over the brassy, piano-laden melody. It’s pretty catchy and seemingly a perfect fit for the upcoming film.
