Pop Perspective: Christina Aguilera's "Change"
Our editors rate and review Christina Aguilera's new single "Change."

I remember being vaguely underwhelmed by Christina Aguilera’s “Telepathy” the first time heard it. But I still downloaded the disco anthem on iTunes (the habit of a lifetime), added it my Upbeat Xtina playlist and promptly forgot about it. Until the song appeared on shuffle a couple of months later and I realized the vocal goddess had casually dropped one of the year’s best singles. Well, someone at Legendtina HQ – or perhaps one of the producers of The Get Down — had the same epiphany and commissioned a remix package.

The Stargate/Sia-penned bop proved to be a hit in clubs and Christina has kindly thrown together a self-produced video as a thank you. “I wanted to make a fun video for my fans since ‘Telepathy’ from The Get Down is #1 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs Chart,” she wrote on Facebook. “Thanks to all the fans, radio and DJs loving the song!” The visual finds Xtina in full disco drag, rocking huge hair and sequins. Apart from that, she cradles a disco ball and lies on a glittery pool table. New music from the flawless diva is expected early next year.
