Pop Perspective: Tinashe's "Company" Reviewed
We rate and review Tinashe's new single "Company" in the latest Pop Perspective.

UPDATE: The song was actually written by another, equally talented (and male) Tinashe. But that doesn’t change the fact that it’s dope!

While Tinashe’s sophomore LP remains M.I.A. (somebody send a search and rescue party), the 23-year-old has kept busy with a long list of features. In the past couple of weeks, Tee has lent her sultry vocals to GTA’s “All Caught Up,” KDA’s “Just Say” and Far East Movement & Marshmello’s “Freal Luv” as well as signing on for a cameo on Britney Spears’ “Slumber Party.” When she’s not brightening up songs with a killer feature, she’s penning them for other artists including Swedish pop sensation Zara Larsson.

It turns out Tinashe is one of the co-writers, along with the always-great Monsters & Strangerz, on a track called “Permission.” Zara has already performed the song live (watch her in action below), so it’s a fairly safe bet to appear on her debut LP. The sexy track finds the 18-year-old taking charge in the bedroom. “Ain’t nothing to complicate I need you to concentrate, my body’s the only thing to figure out,” she coos. “Been saving this love for you, I’m ready when you come through… you got my permission.” It sounds like a stone cold smash.
