Watch Mariah Carey Give The “I Don’t Know Her” Treatment To Ariana Grande & Demi Lovato

Mariah Carey was on Watch What Happens Live and Andy Cohen had her dig into the mythology of the J.Lo “I don’t know her” moment. Not gonna explain that, because if you don’t know it then you wouldn’t be reading this anyway, but that led to a game of “Does! She! Know! Her!?” in which the host asked Carey whether she “knows” various pop ladies.

She kind of dodged the question about whether she knows Jennifer Lopez by now, but the star was quick to say she does not know Ariana Grande. Also in the “don’t know her” category was Madonna (“Never had a conversation with her.”) and Miley Cyrus (“Uh, I think we met in a bathroom with, I don’t know. I don’t know.”). But Demi Lovato got it the worst. At the end of another segment, Carey was asked about Demi’s recent shade, and she said, “I don’t know her either, and so I wouldn’t say anything to her. She should come up, introduce herself to me, say, ‘Here’s my opinion. What do you think about it?’ That’s how you handle shit, okay?” It was finished off with a glorious helping of side-eye. ‘Tis the season!

By the way, in the “know her” category we had Lady Gaga (“She came to my Christmas show at the Beacon Theatre. She came there and we had a nice conversation…It was very sweet and I enjoyed the moment.”), Taylor Swift (“Very nice girl. Met her once. She was really sweet. She came up to me.”), Britney Spears (“love”) and Katy Perry (“Nice girl. She came to my show as well.”).
