After eight non-consecutive weeks stuck in the runner-up position, The Weeknd‘s “Starboy,” a synth-filled collaboration with Daft Punk, has finally topped the Billboard Hot 100. At various points, the song had been held off the top by Rae Sremmurd‘s “Black Beatles” and, before that, The Chainsmokers“Closer.”

“Starboy” gives The Weeknd his third #1 on the main singles roundup, following last year’s “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills.” Though they were sampled on Kanye West‘s chart-topping 2007 single “Stronger,” the highest Daft Punk reached prior to this with one of their own singles was #2 with “Get Lucky,” in 2013.

The Weeknd’s third LP, Starboy, recently became his second album to top the Billboard 200. Meanwhile, another of his collabs with Daft Punk, “I Feel It Coming,” is steadily climbing up the Hot 100. This week it makes a move to #22.
