In celebration of the new year, The xx have released their new track “Say Something Loving.” The track follows their sleek lead single “On Hold” and will appear on their highly-anticipated forthcoming album I See U, which arrives on January 13.

Sampling the Alessi Brothers‘ 1978 track “Do You Feel It?”, the songs finds singers Romy Madley Croft  and Oliver Sim exchanging love-sick lyrics over a twinkling electronic melody. “You say something loving / It’s so overwhelming, the thrill of affection / Feels so unfamiliar / You say something loving,” they croon. It’s quite a change of pace for the group, but a welcome one at that.

Not to mention, on Monday (January 3), Croft announced her engagement to girlfriend and visual artist Hannah Marshall via Instagram. “Last night, a very special person asked me a very beautiful question,” she wrote in the caption. “I said yes! 💍💕💕💕💕💕💕”

Now, that’s the way to start off 2017!
