Entertainment Weekly gets 2017 started by paying tribute to George Michael and Carrie Fisher this week, via a split-run cover for the publication’s upcoming issue. Also honored is Fisher’s mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, who passed away just one day after her daughter.

Per the mag’s official site, their write-up on Michael “traces his journey from the teen idol of Wham! to the libidinous, defiant pop star behind hits like ‘I Want Your Sex’ and ‘Faith’.” The singer died just a week and a half ago, on Christmas Day, at age 53.

Collaborators who took part in the piece include the singer’s “I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)” duet partner Aretha Franklin, “Freedom ’90” video star Cindy Crawford and fellow out musician Melissa Etheridge, who, along with Pet Shop Boys, k.d. lang and Garth Brooks, performed with George at the Equality Rocks concert in Washington D.C. in spring 2000.

Michael’s iconic photo used for the EW cover was one shot by the late Herb Ritts. The issue hits newsstands this Friday.
