Kiesza’s Stark “Dearly Beloved” Video: Watch

Three years after bursting into pop charts the world over with “Hideaway,” Kiesza returns with funky new single “Dearly Beloved,” and a somewhat new sound. The Canadian songbird worked with producer Stuart Price on the track.

For the Prince-esque tune’s music video, we see Kiesza decked out in a color-splashed ensemble while she swivels around against a white backdrop, playing an equally white guitar. As it turns out, the instrument holds a special significance for Kiesza.

“When my best friend Alice passed away nearly a year and a half ago, her white electric guitar was passed along to me,” she says via a press release. “In her memory and because I love her so much, I promised myself that I would not let it sit in its case collecting dust. I was going to play the hell out of it, just as she would have done. So that’s what I’m doing. Inspired by her and all of you, I am absolutely ecstatic to be able to start off this new chapter with my new song, Dearly Beloved.”
