Pop Perspective: Ed Sheeran's "Shape Of You"
We rate and review Ed Sheeran's new singles "Shape Of You" and "Castle On The Hill."

While some of our editors were less than impressed with Ed Sheeran’s new singles (check out the latest Pop Perspective), they were in the clear minority. “Shape Of You,” which may have originally been intended for Rihanna, and “Castle On The Hill” are currently sitting at number one and two on iTunes, respectively. The tracks also set a new Spotify record when they garnered 13 million combined streams in the first 24 hours. At this rate, the Brit is set to wreak havoc on next week’s Billboard Hot 100.

Never one to rest on his laurels, Ed is hyping the record with a UK promo tour. He sat down for an interview with Kiss FM UK this morning (January 9) and randomly ended up covering a couple of bars of Fifth Harmony’s “Work For Home.” His impromptu rendition was rudely interrupted by one of the hosts — I wanted to hear the full thing! — but it sounded pretty good. Amusingly, the 25-year-old couldn’t help making a quip of the song’s repetitive lyrics. Watch the hitmaker in action below.
