Halsey’s “Not Afraid Anymore” Is The Next ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Single
The Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack is brimming with new music from pop heavyweights like Sia, Nick Jonas and Tove Lo. However, the next (promo) single from the album belongs to Halsey. The rising star, who spent 12 consecutive weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 thanks to a feature on The Chainsmokers’ “Closer,” contributes a song called “Not Afraid Anymore” and it’s expected to arrive on Friday (January 13). The creepy, vaguely Kubrickian cover surfaced online today and it promises a wild ride.
While the 22-year-old’s career is firing on all cylinders, she has had a tough start to the year. Halsey was recently diagnosed with endometriosis and needed surgery to alleviate the condition. “I’m in total agony right now… (and I’m going to be in excruciating pain for a while cause I had quite the cocktail of procedures today),” the hitmaker wrote on Instagram. “But in my recovery I am thinking of all of you and how you give me the strength and stamina to power through and prosper.” Hopefully, she’s feeling well enough to promote her new smash.
