Is Diplo Joining Lady Gaga At The Super Bowl?
By this point, we know if you’re doing the Super Bowl Halftime Show, you’re gonna have a few special guests join. Unless you’re Prince or rock royalty, that’s been the standard operating procedure for the 2000s. And today, we got the first indication about who might be joining Lady Gaga on stage at the Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show, when Diplo hinted that he could be a special guest.
Joanne:: A conservative pop album for a conservative time
The producer and Major Lazer mastermind shared a #tbt photo of the two of them attending a prior Super Bowl, adding, “we back again next month.”
Until it’s confirmed or denied, this is the fun part when you start thinking up scenarios for what his role would be and what songs they’d be teaming up on. The weird thing is, the Diplo/Major Lazer sensibility is most aligned with ARTPOP, which is the album Gaga is least likely to pull from for the medley. Also, will Mark Ronson be involved? What about Kevin Parker, or her old pal Brian May? We’ll find out on February 5.
